Introduction
Dr.
Torres is a bilingual Cuban American with a strong desire to
promote mental and physical wellbeing in the Latino/Hispanic community. Dr. Torres is a
psychotherapist that is currently working in Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health at Mt. Sinai Hospital in
Chicago, Illinois under the
supervision of licensed psychologist. Dr. Torres obtained his doctorate degree
in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) with advanced training in family
systems from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in
2009.
Dr. Torres earned a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Psychology
with Magna Cum Laude
from Florida International University
in 2003 and an Associate
in Arts Degree
with Highest Honors with
Distinction
from Miami-Dade Community College
in 2001.

Treatment Approach
Dr. Torres utilizes a
therapeutic approach that integrates a culturally sensitive,
relational, existential, and systemic perspective that is
tailored to meet each individual’s needs.
Dr. Torres considers
treatment to be a collaborative effort with his clients. He recognizes the
importance of providing a safe, calm, and confidential
environment where concerns can be discussed openly. Dr. Torres believes
in empowering his clients and understands
each client is unique. He helps his clients explore their options
and reflect on their thoughts and feelings to discover new
solutions, search for meaning, and reframe negative outlooks
into positive, new perspectives.
