Questions
& Answers
How
much web design experience do you have?
I
have been designing web pages since 2000 where I worked at Miami-Dade
Community College (MDCC) in the Honors Program as a student assistant.
There I designed my first pages, the Honors Program site and the
Phi Theta Kappa Mu Epsilon site, working along side MDCC' web
development department. I have worked on and off since then. For
a list of my most recent web sites please visit

How
long does it usually take to complete a site?
Well
that depends on several factors. Here are some of these factors
that prolong the completion of your site.
1. Is the
content already created or are there graphics and content to
be created?
2. Do you
need photographs to be taken of you merchandise, store, staff,
or office?
Nevertheless,
most sites are completed within a period of 2 to 5 weeks.
How
much does a web site really cost to produce?
Of
course that depends on the size (how many pages) of the site and
the features (galleries, forms, flash intro, etc) it has. Currently
my fees range between $75 and $250 per page. $75 being a simple
page with normal graphics to fit the theme of your site, $100 being
a page with a online form, $150 being a page with a photo gallery,
and $250 being a page with flash animation, such as my home page.
Some of the above fees can vary due to the complexity of the
particular page.
In
addition to web development, you must also think of the cost of
purchasing a domain name and web hosting. The domain name price
varies from $7 to $30 per year depending on the desired extension
(.com, .net, .info, .org, .name, etc) and from what company you
make your purchase from. Web hosting, on the other hand, can be
costly. Basic monthly fees are as low as $1 up to $200 each month
and sometimes even more. This price depend on the disk space, bandwidth,
and if your site will be using a database or a shopping cart.
